I had a chance to sit and unwind after a busy day of show rehearsals and regular 9-5 shit and just chill out with a drank. That led me to discovering one of my favorite jams in video form...it went all transformer on me. Anyhow, Donald Glover aka Childish Gambino has been touring the country for a while now...[still slapping myself for not going to meet him in Fayetteville, AR in 2011]...and he has managed to solidify a great following for his music. Making the transition from writer/actor to Rapper ain't the easiest job on Earth...and it damn sure has its criticisms. Childish Gambino does it well so I have no complaints.
L.E.S. is a rhythmic, lush song that you wouldn't fit in the category of Hip Hop right away (It ain't that Gucci Mane shit that people like) so its no surprise that the video would be unexpected as well. So when I see shots of the Lower East Side, where I remember having my first big national radio interview...it made me miss NYC. So shouts out to Donald and the video's director Ibra Ake for striking a chord in my heart.
